In August, 2013 the SDMetro Magazine featured three San  Diego women that have provided leadership in the field of Landscape Architecture.

Marian was featured for her commitment to the environment, with numerous LEED projects & water conserving landscapes spanning 35 years.

One of the highlighted projects featured the recently completed Aviation Technology Building at Miramar Community College, a LEED Gold facility created in partnership with Joseph Wong Design Associates.

In June, 2013 the San Diego Business Journal recognized Marian’s work on the Solar Turbines ‘WaterSmart’ Garden in Kearny Mesa. The feature article highlighted the elements of this high-performance, sustainable landscape that now serves as a model for other corporations to follow.

The renovation removed 2 acres of expansive lawn, preserved mature trees, salvaged existing river cobble from grading operations, created new stormwater swales, added over 50 new trees, & established 2 acres of drought tolerant, flowering shrubs & succulents that offer enriched habitat.

Water use at the facility since the renovation has been reduced by a documented 80%. The transformed landscape has now become an invaluable employee amenity & an on-going source of corporate pride.
