General Atomics Corporate Garden

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThis one-acre corporate garden, completed in 2012, welcomes visitors & offers a stunning contemplative space for employees. Sunken plazas at both ends of the linear garden feature spiral paving patterns, sleek concrete seatwalls, cascading water features, and hand-seeded stone aggregate paving.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAArtfully placed white granite boulders  form ‘crevices’ between the seatwalls for dramatic visual effect, & water quietly spills down the high-mountain streambed strewn with granite cobble.

Gentle earthen mounds are built up around each of the plazas to create visual appeal from the elevational change.

The east & west plazas are connected with a curved nature path that gently meanders through the lush garden space, with several smaller seating nooks nestled into the undulating landscape. These nooks  serve as quiet destinations for employees and offer panoramic views to the south overlooking the extensive corporate campus.

Existing turf was completely removed from this one-acre landscape, and replaced with specimen palms, flowering trees, colorful shrubs & sprawling ground covers. The lush garden is artfully maintained throughout all seasons of the year.
