In May of 2010, Marian Marum joined with her Client, Solar Turbines, in accepting the E.A.R.T.H. award for the creation of the WaterSmart Landscape at the Solar Turbines Kearny Mesa Campus. After removing 2 acres of water-consuming turf, Solar transformed their property into a stunning water-conservation garden, that now serves as a model for other corporations in the region. Water use at the facility declined by 80% after the transformation. The Award is given to exemplary projects by San Diego Earthworks and stands for ‘Environmental Action & Restoration That Helps’.

Recognition Award for Exemplary Performance by a Woman-owned Business Enterprise (WBE) 

In May, 2012 Marum Partnership was honored for exemplary performance on the Mesa Community College Social & Behavioral Sciences Building. Marian was cited as “the ‘glue’ on the project by Diane Malone of Gafcon, who nominated her for the award. Marian was credited for successfully addressing a number of contextual challenges in the site design, helping secure approval from all stakeholders.

The award was presented by Dr. Constance Carroll, Chancellor, & Mr. David Umstot, Vice Chancellor of Facilities for the San Diego Community College District.
